December 1998 Meeting with BLM

Trail Talk

A group of CA/NV Chapter members from Nevada and California met on December 14-15 at the Winnemucca BLM Office to discuss how the chapter intends to organize and carry out its trail preservation programs in the future.  The meeting was called and chaired by Don Buck with the purpose of establishing preservation guidelines and a framework for carrying out the Chapter's preservation work more effectively.  The first day was devoted to a general discussion involving our preservation goals and needs.  The second day was devoted to difining the issues more specifically and then undertaking to tackle the chapter's organizational, coordination, and oversight needs.

A follow-up meeting was then scheduled for Auburn on January 29th. Following this meeting, recommendations will be submitted to the Chapter Board for its consideration at the February19th Board Meeting  to be held in conjunction with the scheduled chapter symposium in Redding on February 20th at the Double Tree Inn.
