Mid-Year Board Meeting at Independence, MO
March 5-6, 1999

Blue skies and brisk air welcomed OCTA Board members for their 2-day mid-year Board Meeting held at OCTA Headquarters in Independence, MO.

The beautiful and abundant Cardinal song birds, perched high in the trees about the Headquarters building, greeted the visitors, as they passed from their cars to the entrance, with their glorious song.  (Can you tell this midwesterner sorely misses the Cardinals here in California?)

Friday started out with tours of the Headquarters Office, National Frontier Trails Center and the Merrill Mattes Library, including the second story storage area.

The office staff saw to it that lunch was provided both days, and a delicious buffet was served at the Trails Center Friday night, where the Tourism Director for the City of Independence welcomed us.
